Overall Review: I bought this mouse around 4:30pm on 27 April 2015. Pros: easy to connect, responsive, better than average build quality outside, scrolls nicely, shiny.Ĭons: Drops connection within 9 minutes, can't simply refresh connection, must disconnect, then reconnect to computer. Overall, I'd say that this is a decent purchase. The batteries don't come out super-easy, but then again that means that they stay secured in so accidental drops and bumps don't dislodge them. One thing that IS related to the mouse, they have a button that you push, and then open the bottom to change the batteries. Again, might not be the mouse itself, but I thought it was worth pointing out.

Trying this out on a laptop with dual-boot Windows and Linux, I had to reconnect the mouse as if it was trying to connect to a new device. I will say that this mouse doesn't switch between OSes on the same computer well. When using DeX on a wireless device (like a Roku or Chromecast device), the cursor lags somewhat, but that may be more due to the wireless feature instead of the mouse itself. I originally bought this mouse to use on Samsung DeX, and it does do well in Samsung applications. Plus, it has that Windows button which makes it easy to see the list of apps, and the scroll wheel clicks in and from side to side. Logitech is usually a pretty good brand in regards to peripherals, and this mouse not only looks good, it feels good in my hand. Overall Review: This mouse does well in regards to a Bluetooth mouse it is the first that I've ever owned. Not easy to use on dual-boot computer systems. Pros: - Bought for Samsung DeX, and works pretty well.Ĭons: - Battery is a little difficult to change. I would urge others NOT to buy the Logitech M557. So now I know to an absolute certainty that the connectivity issues with the M557 were the fault of the mouse and not my computer. Replacement is from a brand I never heard of, and was less than half the price of the M557, but it works flawlessly.

Would NOT recommend this product.Ģnd Update 7/28/16 I finally got around to buying a different Bluetooth mouse. I might suspect that it could be a problem with my computer, but others have posted similar complaints about the connectivity of this mouse, so I'm much more inclined to believe it's the mouse. Still have problems with the mouse constantly losing connection and powering down. Update: 3/10/16 After my earlier review post, I did contact Logitech's tech support. Unlike another review where the light was still blinking and the mouse just wasn't communicating with the computer, mine shows no indication that it's still on when it does this.
Thought it might be weak batteries, but I checked them with my voltmeter and they're fine. If it would wake back up when you moved it, that wouldn't be a problem, but I frequently have to pick it up turn the switch on the bottom off, and then turn it back on to get it to work again, as quite often no amount of moving, shaking, etc. I can understand going into a sleep mode when not in use to save battery, but this thing will often go to sleep or shut off if left idle for less than a minute while you're reading a page or typing. Connected to my computer effortlessly.Ĭons: The mouse is constantly shutting itself off if left untouched for more than just a few seconds. Pros: When it's on, it does what a mouse is supposed to do.
